Woke up in the middle of the night with this.
When I write or send out links on certain subjects,
I sometimes get sent superior judgemental emails.
(I don’t know how my email address gets out.
If you have it, please do not share it. Thanks.)
The tone is usually that they absolutely know
and I absolutely don’t - which is interesting,
as what they say, and the judgmental way they say it, to me,
does not give much indication of them being very evolved -
let alone awake.
The main subjects that seem to upset are anything about
Jews, gurus, religion and spirituality.
(Seems the subject of relationships has starting to be accepted.)
(Incidentally, forgot to mention in my last email,
yoga, breathing, groups and meetings.)
Let’s get something clear.
I am not saying that any of the mentioned are not fun to attend,
I am suggesting they have very little to do with waking up.
More like entertainment.
Don’t agree? Check it out - how many fully awakened people
have you personally met who woke up for a sustained period of time
in a group or doing a practice. I know lots of people who have had awakening experiences in groups -
especially the Satori Group, but sustained? I don’t know any.
Does chanting, yoga, mantras, and other techniques give a high?
For sure - same with lots of rituals, and what I am suggesting is,
rather than helping us to wake up, if we rely on them, they can be in the
way.
Again, don’t agree - check out what the masters of old say.
I have met just a few people who have had a sustained awakening experience
- but no one who who realised it in a group or doing a practice.
Buddha did do you say? According to the records, no.
He did try everything, and finding nothing worked, gave up. Pop!
(That’s what happens in the Satori Group.)
True, a few are reported to have had gurus, but the majority, as I read,
not. Lao Tzu? Socrates? Bankei? And so on.
Let’s make something else clear.
I am not saying don’t do any of these practices - especially the groups.
Similar oriented people getting together can be supportive, and fun.
(When we are talking of the old times in the groups,
what we remember most is the fun and the laughter.)
I have met just a few people who have who have had
sustained awakening experiences in this lifetime.
None of them as a result of a group, guru or spiritual practice.
Just consider - the huge number of people attending groups
and doing practices - and how many have awoken?
If the techniques worked, wouldn’t we have millions of awakened people now?
And, there are now a number of people reporting extra-ordinary experiences.
The times really do seem to be a changi'n.
If you want some definitive hints for waking up,
listen carefully to what Dianne shared in her interview with Alan.

And if it does not click for you - listen again. And again.
It is the clearest I have ever heard.
Synopsis. When you feel upset, disturbed, stop. STOP!!!
If you are driving, pull over, if you are talking, shut up.
Stop, listen, feel, be with what is happening.
Listen to Dianne’s interview again - she says it -
the clearest I have heard - and that includes all the teachers, gurus
I have been with.
Instead of attempting to escape the moment, just as it is,
with suppressing, expressing, avoiding, working on it,
just be unconditionally with what is. Simple.
