Kathleen Knighton grew up in West Virginia where she loved exploring the incredible beauty of the Appalachian Mountains. After high school she attended Yale University. She couldn't decide on a major until a summer internship with the Student Conservation Association in Yosemite National Park where she tracked black bears. “It was an incredible adventure where I learned so much about bears and the dynamic Yosemite ecosystem.” She majored in environmental studies and went back to Yosemite and
later to Jackson, Wyoming to do wildlife research in Grand Teton National Park. Wanting to work in the
environmental field in a big city, she moved to New York where she currently is an environmental education assistant, helping to coordinate the After School Conservation Club at twenty schools and community centers around the City.
“I've loved to sing and write songs since I was a little girl! As I look towards the future, my goal is to be working in the environmental movement while being involved with music all the time.”
