I still have to keep reminding myself that people - even so-called
scientists, are serious about Christianity, or any other religion/spiritual
practice.
Not only do the religions flout almost everything in what they consider
their holy scriptures, but they deny actual 'hard evidence' about the
foundation of their religion/spiritual practice.
("Thou shalt not kill" "Love they neighbour." "Make no graven image."
"If you meet me on the road, kill me." "Be a light on to yourself."
That sort of thing.)
Just watched yet another excellent 'neutral' documentary about the origins
of Christianity. (I am sure there are lots on the Web.)
One salient point was when, some years ago, a carved stone tablet was found
in Egypt with a story about a virgin mother who gave birth in a stable;
three visiting kings bearing gifts; shepherds being summoned; a child who
did miracles; was crucified; rose from the dead after three days.
The same story was carved in three languages: Egyptian hieroglyphics, Greek,
and one other other language.
Here is the thing: The stone tablet was carbon-dated to show it was written
three thousand years - before the supposed birth of Christ.
The mother was Isis and the child Horace.
The doco also mentioned that there is no historical mention in the holy land
of anyone called Jesus, or any of the events purported.
When these facts were shown to religious scholars they waffled like
politicians attempting to avoid the fact that they have not lived up to
their election promises.
This is what I get from the situation...
From the historical data there seems almost no doubt that what has been
reported is not true. So if this is not true - what else have we assumed are
facts when in reality they are just fantasies.
The remedy for being free from any conditioning is simple...
Disconnect from the part of the brain that refers to the past and projected
future - and live, (unconditionally) in the moment.
Unfortunately this will mean taking responsibility for yourself.
It means being so present to the moment that it is realised that the moment
is all that is.
Happy momenting...
As I think Gurdjieff made clear - many people are open for incre-mental
changes, but bulk at the big ones. He likened it the chromatic scale in
music - needs a semi-tone to get to the next level. Or something like that.
Even with incremental changes there are usually subtleties to be included.
But it is The Big One where people turn back.
(Trouble is, if we acknowledge The Big One then we are going to have to stop
holding on to everything - everything, and let life live us.)
Most of us have no idea how much we attempt to control our lives - through
attempting to control others, and life in general.
As I understand him, Jesus attempted to share this through his saying:
"Thy Will Be Done."
(My take on life is that there is not a 'Thy.'
Life is the Thy, and we are Life.)
So often I have shared with a person - right up to the point where they need
to see themselves and their behaviour. Meaning, to take responsibility for
their actions, words, and thoughts - and thus their reality and the state of
their lives. That is usually where they find a perfectly 'legitimate' excuse
to stop looking: "For a while."
One difficulty for a person attempting to support a person through this
stage is that when the person is in the middle of one of their patterns,
that is when they want to quit - 'for a while.'
The most potent time for seeing and releasing yourself from a pattern of
your cellular memory is right when you are in the middle of it.
Otherwise, it is just mind stuff -how can you 'deal' with something that is
not happening right in that moment!
Classical example:
Disciple goes to his guru and asks how he can deal with his
anger/sex/greed/pride/jealousy/etc.
The guru asks the disciple to show him the
anger/sex/greed/pride/jealousy/etc. so he can observe it!
If it is not actually happening it is only a (distorted) memory.
If you really, really want to be free - then you are already.
Never have not been.
If you are not yet feeling free then it means you want to be free - on your
terms. Trouble is, it is your terms that are keeping you from feeling your
freedom! Nobody is keeping it from you - except you and your conditional
terms. You want to be free - in the same place, with the same people, in the
same conditions, with the same views. "Unless you die and be reborn."
When 'it' 'happens' - meaning you suddenly realise you have been free all
the time, you also realise that it was your idea of what freedom is that was
preventing you from being in it.
That sort of thing.
Happy freedoming...
Foundational Principle for this Conversation: An intention to experience all there is: physical, emotional, and whatever else can be experienced
as an expression of life at its most essential and expansive.
Definition: Spiritual – Related to the divine.
STUDENT: I believe in the idea of something being spiritual or divinely inspired, but I wouldn’t even know where to begin in talking about it.
LEWIS: As we integrate our vision for our life with our daily actions and our wants with our essential needs there is a realization that takes place. I call this a spiritual realization.
STUDENT: And what is this spiritual realization?
LEWIS: The understanding that what we call reality, the accumulated physical experiences and sensations are no more than an illusion of the senses – a creation from our eyes, ears, and taste buds.
STUDENT: Please explain.
LEWIS: We smell things through our nostrils and feel things through the power of touch. And yet we can see that all this sensory input is subjective. It is different for each person and even changes for us through the years as we age.
STUDENT: How does this connect to spiritual intention?
LEWIS: I believe that the ability to speak of this experience in a way that has an application to our life is “wisdom.” I personally see wisdom as a reflection of spiritual intention (See the Conversation on Self-Actualization).
STUDENT: Why?
LEWIS: A wise person is much more than a knowledgeable person.
A wise person – a spiritual person – has the ability to experience the true nature of inner reality. Such a person understands the nature of the world and all of its subtleties.
STUDENT: How is wisdom different from knowledge?
LEWIS: Knowledge is stored information. Many of the great teachers were skeptical regarding the importance of intellectual knowledge without a greater more profound element.
STUDENT: Please discuss this on a deeper level.
LEWIS: There are many philosophers that believe that their are some things that can be known and other things that can never be known. Those things that can be known they would call the "knowable." The knowable would include finite knowledge. An example of finite knowledge would be facts about something or any knowledge that reflects the workings of the intellect. Those things that cannot be known are known as the "unknowable." The unknowable would refer to that which we sense through the intuition or which we might call spiritual awareness.
STUDENT: Which is more important?
LEWIS: We must seek both in order to live our best life.
STUDENT: Is it possible that we all have the wisdom we seek within us?
LEWIS: Yes, yet sadly and foolishly we search for it in churches, mosques, synagogues, and temples. We have been convinced and continue to convince ourselves that collecting icons, joining religious organizations, and worshipping Pope’s, Rabbi's, Lamas and Ayatollahs is a spiritual practice (See the Conversation on Religion and Regenerative Thought Programs – RTPs).
STUDENT: What about sacred places? Would a pilgrimage to such a place be considered a spiritual intention?
LEWIS: It could be. The sacred is certainly an important part of spiritual intention. But I ask you, is it possible that it is the pain of our longing for transformation and self actualization that makes us run to holy cities, and rivers – and much of this is all in vain?
STUDENT: Is there any common thread of what is “spiritual” that one might find by studying some of the great spiritual thinkers through history?
LEWIS: There are some spiritual teachers that believe that spirituality is a harmony that exists between macrocosm and microcosm: between the inner truth known as Wisdom, that lies within us and the way we live our lives; between the social and cultural behavior we exhibit? That to live a spiritual life we must
discard, even transcend the rites, rules, and rituals we have created throughout time in some imitation of what we think spiritual is.
STUDENT: Please relate spiritual intention to the other sixteen Wealth and Freedom Resources? LEWIS: A person who has a spiritual intention can intuitively and automatically leverage each of the resources as needed to maintain a state where love and freedom reigns.
This is a conversation about our divinity.
person thinks it is complete. Sometimes it is, but mostly there are
subtleties' to be accommodated.
Someone I know has had such an awakening.
It is so awesome they think it is complete.
They have had the major realisation of how complaint poisons -
their own lives, and those around them. So they no longer complain.
They are elated at the difference in their lives. Wonderful.
What they are not yet seeing are the subtleties'.
When they speak of an event, although there are no major complaints, there
are still a subtle judgements. The judgments are so subtle they are almost
indefinable - yet they still contaminate.
They speak of one person who they do not want to be around - because they
only talk about themselves - in great detail, yet another person who does
almost the same thing, they accept. Mostly, our opinions about other people
have more to do with ourselves than the other person.
The difference between rejection and acceptance has to do with the person
having the opinion. Usually we judge a person most who behaves like a part
of ourselves we are not yet accepting in ourselves.
What is not so easy to comprehend is that - everything we think we are
seeing 'out there' is a projection of ourselves. We are not seeing clearly
what may be out there, we are actually seeing a projection that is based on
our opinion.
When a certain level of awakening has happened all judgment dissolves. Gone.
Although your acceptance may now be unconditional, you may still choose not
to be around a certain person - because their behaviour is not fun for you.
Most self-cantered people are like a tornado - they are so totally involved
in themselves they drag out energy from everyone and everything around.
Not so much fun to be around.
When a certain level has awakened, love is always foremost.
You may, because of their unpleasant behaviour, never need, or even want to
see a certain person again, yet love will always be foremost when you think
about them. And that can change in a moment.
Here is how you can tell about your level of acceptance.
If you are around a person who is grossly self-cantered, and you contract,
you are 'not there yet.' If you are around that person and although you do
not enjoy their behaviour, yet there is no contraction, and you feel for the
person, you have realised a deep level of awakening.
Here is an interesting thing you can play with.
See if you can get some people you know to give you a genuine appraisal of
how they see you. If you can get some people who do not like you to do the
same, better still.
What you will find is that, even if it is subtle, everyone has a different
opinion. Everyone sees you differently.
So is what they are seeing more to do with you - or them?
Usually, even if their opinion is mostly projection, there is something for
you to consider about yourself.
Then, see how you feel about yourself, and whatever, don't take it
seriously.
There’s a new frequency coming through humanity today and it’s turning our
lives upside down. So many of us are experiencing increasing challenges as our
world is rocked by unexpected inner and outer events. So many of us are being
impacted by an increasing intensity in our daily lives and in our emotions. And
so many of us are feeling a sense of anticipation as if something new is about to
happen but we don't what that is.
Whether we experience these changes and challenges as fear or as excitement is a
choice we each have to make. Because the new frequency is about making new
choices in our lives. We are in the midst of a new evolutionary impulse that is
creating the possibility for a fundamental shift in how we see things, in our beliefs,
our thoughts, our feelings, our words and our actions. It's a new paradigm of living
and being and we are being birthed into it. And, like all births, it is both painful and
exciting. It is out of the chaos that something new is born. It is at the darkest hour that
we stand at the edge of a rebirth into the light of a fresh dawn.
This new paradigm is the call to Radical Awakening. It’s the call to get conscious in
every aspect of our lives. Radical Awakening is a fundamental shift in the relationship
to Life … and ultimately to ourselves. Do we operate from the myopic viewpoint of a
contracted ego or do we operate from the clarity afforded us when we stand in the
360-degree perspective of an unbounded heart? Do we operate from our smallness or
from our greatness? Do we operate from a victim-consciousness or do we operate as
conscious co-creators? This is the choice that we are being offered … and the choice
that we make will alter our future for better or for worse.
More and more of us are becoming aware that this choice is available to us. The trick is
that we need to make this choice in every moment and in every circumstance. Radical
Awakening is the frequency of the Divine Feminine … and the Divine Feminine leaves
no stone unturned in her mission to heal the wound of separation that is the cause of all
suffering. Her love is a fierce one, a tenacious one, and a courageous one. Her love is
that of a mother who will do anything to protect her children and get the job done. And
the job in this case is to shift us from separation to oneness. Wherever we separate ourselves
from Source is where we separate ourselves from Life and from ourselves. And whenever
we live in a state of separation we experience anxiety, scarcity, fear, competitiveness,
stress and isolation.
Radical Awakening is the call to recognize and embody the truth of who we really are.
Because only when we have truly tasted the sweet nectar of our essential divinity - our
wholeness and our holiness – can we truly operate from a unity paradigm. When we stop
looking at the world through the eyes in our head and start looking through the eyes of our
heart, we come to see that everything that exists is spun together with the same thread of
magic and we come to know that every single person and every single thing is a
manifestation of the One Source. Tapping into the vast ocean of our Being-nature -
that part of us that is unchanging and eternal - means that we are at one with life as it
unfolds within our own experience. And this means that we are no longer victims of
circumstances!
The shift from our heads to our hearts grants us the power to make a choice in how we
respond to life. Instead of reacting from our habitual patterns, we can now choose to respond
with more life-affirming thoughts, feelings, words and actions. Instead of operating from
a reality clouded by past-fear of future-hope, we can operate within the crystal-clear lens
of the present moment. It’s when we step fully into the present that the inner light of our
true radiance can shine. Our true radiance is our willingness to be total, to fully show up
and offer ourselves wholeheartedly to life as it moves through us, to allow the fire of passion
to burn through all self-limitations so that we offer our unique gifts to the world in service
to the greater whole. This is a shift from a me-centred perspective of “what can I get from
life?” to a we-centred perspective of “what can I give to life?” It’s a radical turn-around of
all our self-protective ways to a new unlimited way of being that ultimately leads to more
happiness, more joy, more love and more freedom for ourselves and for all those around us.
This radical awakening is a new spirituality that has little to do with running away to
the mountain-top to meditate in seclusion for a few more lifetimes. Nor has it much to
do with holding hands and praying for peace to come one day in the future. The new
frequency is about bringing spirituality into a deep intimacy with practicality. The Divine
Feminine is an earthy vibration that seeks to heal the wound of separation that has plagued
our relationships to all things tangible: our relationship to our bodies and health, our
relationship to other people, and our relationship to our work and our money. All of these
are realms not normally embraced by the traditional spiritual path.
Today the call is to get conscious within the nitty-gritty of our daily lives. The new frequency
is impacting our health, our intimate relationships, our work and our money. So many of us are
experiencing a breakdown of one or more of these areas of our lives, so many of us are
experiencing unexpected illness, loss of loved ones, disillusionment with work and financial
instability. So many of us are yearning to find our true purpose in the world. And all of this
is as it should be … the light of the Divine Feminine is revealing to us those aspects of our
lives in which are still operating from a separation-perspective. The call is to choose
love not fear, greatness not smallness, and to know ourselves as conscious
co-creators of our reality.
The choice is ours to make … and the power to make that choice is available to us now!

What your holy books never told you (or you chose to ignore) about Awakening
Today I would like to take the time to address some things that you may never have
heard about which happens upon or after Awakening / Enlightenment / Liberation.
These happenings are usually never mentioned in the holy books, or if they are,
they are totally ignored. This is merely a "check list", of sorts, to refer to when
one is rather convinced that the whole world had this Awakening "thing" backwards
(which, by the by, they do... but, this will be understood on its own in due time.).
1.) Awakening or Enlightenment is the last great disappointment of ego. In that
non-instant there is the bewildered declaration of: "Are you kidding me!?", followed
by utter perplexity that eventually yields to the deepest laughter ever encountered.
Most of the "Awake" (or subsequent books about Awakening) discuss the laughter.
However, the laughter doesn't come first; at first you will be baffled and will, more
than likely, feel slightly let down for a few short moments. Welcome to the 'cosmic
joke' (and yes, it was on you!).
2.) No one will notice a thing. Your closest friends and family will, more than likely,
not see much of a change. You will not glow. Angels will not surround your home.
Buddha will not come knocking at your door to welcome you into "the club". You
may actually become more annoying to those closest to you. You will want to share
in the delight of the Truth that has been uncovered, but your loved ones will:
a) have no idea what you are talking about and quietly believe you have officially
lost your marbles,
b) could care less about your latest discovery (which, to them, is likely to be just another
"aha" among a long journey of "aha's" that you've shared with them umpteen times before),
c) your gibberish and inability to communicate what is understood sounds like an alien
language that makes them dizzy, confused and quite irritated with you.
3.) You will feel emotion like you have never felt before. There is now a quiet, steady
center that is constantly present; however, when an emotion comes along, its
energectic depth will suprise you. You will realize that without any barriers in place
(namely, the sense of a seperate self) that these energies are free to go from 0 to
100 in a matter of seconds. And they will. You will also realize that you had never
truly experienced happiness, sadness or even anger as it is before. Do not be
surprised and, by all means, do not attempt to block this from happening.
The Freedom of Truth even allows the freedom of free flowing emotional energy.
Enjoy the ride.
4.) You will forget what it's like to live without the Understanding of Truth.
This will frustrate the hell out of you. You will attempt to describe, point and
guide others that are not within this Understanding a thousand times; it will fail
miserably. You are now unable to comprehend how they can't see This Truth
(as you have forgotten what that's like and can't, even for a second, pretend to be
separate from life again) and they can't understand a word of what you are saying.
You will also give up trying to share hundreds of times. However, the universe will
continually put you back in such a position again and again and again ... until you
accept the frustration, accept that you can't make another Understand and humbly
point to the ineffable despite the difficulities.
5.) A magical thing eventually happens; you are blessed with a "bullshit meter".
It picks up on people's indiscretions, lies, stories, masks, fears, etc from miles away.
It's now hard to play the game of "pretend I'm someone I'm not" with someone that really
isn't what they are hoping to pretend they aren't. You will lose patience with people's utter
insistence that they are real in the way they believe they are. You will lose patience with
the same old storylines making an appearance within your life with those closest to you.
You may even walk away from some old relationships, as you can now clearly see the
foundations were based upon need, lack and the want for connection that is
no longer necessary.
6.) You will unintentionally offend people ... many people. It will be difficult to pump
up people's egos just for the sake of making them feel better; rather, you will share in
an honest way and this isn't what most people want to hear. You will eventually learn
when to speak and when to be silent; opting for the latter more and more.
7.) When you close your eyes, the world will disappear... there will be no cognition of
anything. When you open your eyes again, it's like a magic trick when the cognition
comes back. It's better than ice cream.
8.) Ice cream will still make the body fat. It hasn't lost the ability to gain weight.
9.) You will make mistakes. Many of them. That body is still an imperfect human
being living within an imperfect world. Embrace this.
10.) You will laugh often. Outloud. To yourself. For no apparent reason.
People will not understand this, as it's really an "inside joke". Their stares and your
laughter will make you laugh harder.
11.) There will be "settling" or "deepening" into This Ever Present Truth.
12.) You will get lost gazing at the night sky. You will fall in love with flying birds.
You will weep over the unnecessary suffering of any living thing. You will smile at the gentle
cooing of babies. Life will always be the suprising gift that it is.
13.) If you had a Teacher (s), you will fall to your knees in utter gratitude and humility
at the Grace and Guidance given. This will never go away ...
14.) You may have accumulated rooms and rooms full of spiritual paraphernalia and books.
You will realize that these collections (which were pretty unnecessary) are now taking up all
of your free space. Ebay is a great way to get rid of them and allow those currently seeking
Truth to "surround themselves with holy things".
15.) All is holy. Even poop. But poop still stinks.
