'Make a Difference' by Kira Kay
My brother has frequently called me an optimist, and even at times, an idealist. I tend to disagree and state that I am a realist – perhaps ahead of my time!
I do deeply believe in the potential of us living in a more harmonious state with each other and our environment. When I view the world situation and various crisis events – from wars and genocides, famine, economic declines, world population hitting 7 billion etc. it does look quite bleak! Yet, I still intrinsically feel it is possible that within my lifetime to experience a world where ‘we’ take care of one another, on multiple levels.
We all ‘make a difference’ - we do! What we put our attention to, what we invest in, what we think about, what we say … all contributes to the world within which we live.
I was sent an uplifting clip yesterday from ‘We Day’, which is a youth inspired movement towards this ‘we’ potential … something we can all be a part of and encourage others into.

The recent Nobel Peace prize was awarded to three women committed to non-violent peace initiatives in countries known for long-term violent conflicts and genocide. Their leadership, their choice to make a difference can be an example and encouragement – if they can make choices in the face of such difficult circumstances then surely we can too?
In my everyday life I keep meeting amazing people contributing to change, initiating and developing solutions to current problems: Inventors working together for open-source energy solutions; scientists studying empathy and exploring how to train compassion; teachers inspiring students into creative learning projects; non-violent peace initiatives being introduced in war-torn countries; simple yet profoundly effective new business models being implemented; ethical banks creating new options in our economic system – to mention a few! So I have a simple and heartfelt request for each of you - have the courage to live a deeper truth – where we are in support of one another, where the basic premise of human rights is compassion for self and for one another. To hear that quiet inner voice that is asking of you another possibility of choice in each moment.
On a practical note … I am here in Nepal for the next few more weeks, and not available for readings, if you require support or insightful input into your life situation then I suggest you browse through my ‘Recommended Practitioner & Seminars’ page, http://www.kirakay.com/practitioners-seminars.html which has been expanded recently to include additional people that I have worked with and find in high integrity.
In December I will be in Australia, where I will be facilitating a 6 day residential Satori retreat – a wonderful opportunity to dive deeply into ‘who you really are’. Plus a 5 day non-residential Intuition Development Intensive, all details can be found on my calendar page http://www.kirakay.com/calendar.html. In January I will be back in Berlin and available once again for individual readings.
