Paul Lowe

Paul Lowe has spent his life investigating the maximum potential for human beings and has found it to be vast, limitless and available to everybody. For forty years he travelled around the world, encouraging people to move beyond what is normally thought of as possible or impossible. He has a remarkable facilty to show people what they are not seeing about themselves, and shares his insights with caring, and perhaps most importantly, humour.

Since retiring from public life in 2007, Paul has continued to send regular emails to a group of of people that were involved in his work and a few others, responding to our state of consciousness, situations in the world and the evolution of our human destiny.

This blog is NewRealities attempt to bring Paul's observations to a greater audience. Feel free to post any comments about what you read here. While Paul may not respond directly, we want to make this an open dialogue among our readers. Dear Paul,

Just when you thought you heard it all.  I almost couldn’t believe what he is saying is true.  In some ways it also parallels the oppression of what each of has been conditioned to believe is true...

http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=50147159n
In North Korea, Shin Dong-hyuk describes how three generations of a family are incarcerated if one family member is considered disloyal.  Born and raised in a prison camp and thought that is all there was.

I am interested in your response, if you have one.

Much love,
Alan of NR

Paul repsonds:

Hi Alan

No I am not surprised at this shocking 60 Minutes video.
I would imagine most countries practice at least some sort torture.
(I consider most religions, and the way most children are brought up,
to be torture.)

I have not yet got this fully, and I don't think any of us are clear
of this part of our conditioning. We still see through our programming.
And that includes the programmers as well.
Get that? The programmers are programmed as well -
they are part of the plot.

I keep getting the feeling that it is right there – just waiting – to
realise,
that we are a species at very, very different levels of consciousness.
Not wrong, just different levels of evolvement.
Some of us have tears at the thought of anyone suffering – in any way,
and some of us can torture without feeling anything – except maybe
some form of pleasure.

I got to see this more clearly when I was living in Africa.
There, what we call cruelty is just a way of life to them. Normal.
And the vastly different standards of life in Arabian countries.
Even, just look at the different standards of the different religions -
including the ones that quote: "Thy shalt not kill." Love thy neighbour."

I would think that being fully awake is to be outside of this conditioned
state. Then, unconditional love. No judgement – good or bad.
That sort of thing.

Sending love
Paul

Alan reonse to Paul:
Thanks Paul for your response.

It seems that we are in a soup of constantly shifting realities.  The best thing that we have going for us is to be able at this time in our history to have such a wide range of so many different realities.  And look at them all side by side as not better or worse, just as a fragments of consciousness.  And maybe step outside all of it, but then again that is another reality.

Is it possible to objectively see all of it with creating another illusion?  I guess I am asking about is there an ultimate consciousness....?

Anyway to balance all that out  --I can’t think of anyone one funnier that this:

Much love,
Alan

From Paul:
>I guess I am asking about is there an ultimate consciousness....?

Absolutely no idea.
As a curiosity, fun,
and in the meantime – in each moment.

I may have sent this out already.
No worries - it is worth watching again.

What is, what we call - real.
Not only psychics, but some scientists are now saying,
that what we call real, is just an idea. (Or something like that.)

So just as an exercise, imagine that what we call reality is just -
either a fragment of the whole, or what we are imagining it to be.
Consider - we really may only be experiencing a tiny part of
existence. There really may be - Something Else.

Another one written some time ago.

------------------------------

An often asked question is: what is it like to be Paul Lowe.

First thing: Paul Lowe does not find it easy to address himself as *I* or
*me.*
The terms seem awkward - not fitting.
Not so easy though in a conversation to speak in terms of the third person.
Let's see how it goes.

In fact, I am not too sure what it is like to be Paul Lowe.
I do enjoy the question when there is a person present asking
as it seems that Paul gets to look at Paul more from the outside.

I do often ask people people how they see him.
Don't get many substantial answers.
Seem they have as much difficulty defining him as Paul does.
(Nice one though from Kira recently eh.)

In life I seem to be living with Paul.
It is as though he has a separate reality - that is clearly seen
from some other perspective. And that is where it gets a bit muddled.
Who is it that has the outside/inside perspective, and from where.
Not that it matters - whatever is, is.
And it is interesting - especially when somebody asks the question.

To him, although in one way, everything on what we call the outside is
real,
at the same time, not real. Not at all real.
Most people's behaviour, most of the time, does not seem at all real.
Yet, of course it is - on one level anyway.

And what about these levels.
On one level there are no levels,
and on other levels there definitely are levels.

There is always a sensation that there is Something Else -
and if there is no idea if that is true, or what it could be if it was
true.
Could be though.

"The Great Way is not difficult for those who have no preferences."
Which indicates to me - Paul is not in/on The Great Way - for,
although not serious, preferences he has for sure.

Thing is though, he does not have a preference for not having preferences.
Or anything really.
So maybe that is not having preferences? Everything is, just as it is.
Like everything else, preferences are just observed. They just are.

In one way it is fun living with Paul - for me anyway.
I think he may be a bit boring to be with for any length of time though.
Hardly every wants to go anywhere, or meet anyone, or do much,
and seems happy just to potter along doing very simple things.
And not much entertainment as he does not argue.

There is something he cannot explain - even to himself.
Everything seems more like a vibration than solid. Even himself.
Actually, especially himself. Inside is tingling so strongly it is as if
every single part of every single cell is dancing its own dance -
in harmony with all the other parts of the cells.
In one way, moving is like floating.
And seems as though in a blink, everything will reveal itself as -
The Something/Nothing Else.

And as he keeps saying (over and over) nothing seems any more,
or any less, than anything else. Tiddly Pom.

The writing and the recording is fading.
At one time, if something came to express it would not go away
until it had been delivered. Not so now - it fades quite quickly.
And the actual writing seems different - not so accurately precise.

And no idea what is next - or even if there is one.
Just here, now - and sending love

This is an old one I just found in a folder.
I don't think I have sent it out - in this form anyway.
And even if I have sent it already - it is a good reminder.

---------------------------------

Greetings.

I know I keep on about this, and the subject keeps coming up
to share, over and over.
This time it has woken me up at 1am, so here we go again.

If you, and your life, isn't absolutely wonderful, and you find yourself
complaining, one of the main reasons maybe that you are grossly
taking more than you are giving.

We all are taking more than we  are giving, it is not possible to give
more than taking, but if the imbalance is big, and there is complaint,
suffering is the result.

(If you can find someone who is giving more than they are taking,
or just giving a lot, you will find they have a fascinating life.)

As I say, it is not possible to give more than taking.
You could check it out. Get a large piece of paper and divide it
vertically. (If you are really unhappy in your life you may need a long
piece - like a toilet roll!)

On one side put all you are getting from life.
Include all the basics - water, electricity, roads, transport,
manufactured goods, health facilities, all general amenities,
work, friends, family - life.

Then to the more subtle - the air you breath, the natural beauty around,
the birds, the baby that smiles at you, the unexpected help from
strangers. Then the very life you have  been given from your parents.
And so on.

Now the other side of the paper - what are you giving back.
The bigger the imbalance, the more unhappy you are likely to be.
As I keep saying - whatever the imbalance, it is not wrong,
just has consequences.

Once again, check out your life. If you are not delightfully fulfilled it
is pretty sure you are not being what is called generous. As I keep saying,
it is not possible to be generous - just by being alive, we are getting so
much from life it is not possible to balance the taking and giving,
(So when in doubt - give more.)

In case I have not made it clear, I am very, very grateful to those of you
who do contribute to our lives - in every way. And that includes just
reading this, and other things we send out. Every time you feel something -
especially if it is uplifting, it is a contribution to all of us in the
universe.

I am often, often asked what to do about some sort of personal misery
and/or depression some person is having.
Someone just wrote to me about their anger and depression,
and although in one way I would like to answer them on the level
from which they are communicating, I know it would not have the effect
they desire. Nothing will.

At one time I used to *go into* the person and attempt to connect
at their level, then offer them a thread of ideas onto which they could
free themselves. That stage was not very efficient, and seems over.

Now, it all seems amazingly clear to me, and in its own way,
it is very similar to what has been proffered by many others -
Be Here Now.
Unfortunately, the message does not seem to connect for most people.

As we keep saying, the misery is activated in the mind.
If you are just here now, the past does not have the mental effect.
Things still go on - emotional and physical, but as the Sufi saying goes:
"This too will pass."

I know - I keep saying the same thing don't I. And here it is again:
Be where you are. Do what you are doing. Say what you are saying.
Be aware of your thoughts - And Don't Go There!

All, and I mean absolutely all, misery is created by
wanting things to be different from the way they are -
in each moment.

Suggestion - don't rush past this - stop and let it in.
Just be aware, and be with what is - in this, this very moment.
