The Law of Attraction: The Pitfall of ‘Trying’ to Manifest by Karen Atkins

bio_karenfor-internet  The 2 major mistakes I often see with attempts at manifestation are:

People are often working to manifest something based on an unconscious desire

People don’t have enough Qi to sustain their enthusiasm and focus and they give up and feel even worse about themselves for having ‘failed.” Then comes the litany of self-criticism: ‘What’s wrong with me?’ ‘Why can’t I manifest?’ ‘I’m a loser.’

So in order to manifest something, we have to have a balanced psyche with balanced sensory integration.  In my experience, the first step towards psychological balance is having enough Qi.  I talk a lot about something called Kidney Qi or Primordial Qi, the primordial life force energy that you receive at birth that starts to diminish if you don’t do things to work on conserving and increasing it.

Having enough of this Qi gets you out of panic mode and enables you to take a look at your traumas and emotional upheavals with less fear and more energy to move what’s stuck. Without that, you’re going to be in fight or flight mode. If you are in panic mode, you can’t manifest things.

When your life force is alive and flowing, you will flow in the direction that your life needs to move in and your ‘internal compass’ will send you in the direction that’s right for you. All of your gifts start to come alive. Everything that you can create starts to activate within you. As the Taoists say: Increasing your Qi, increases your ‘luck.’

When people have a certain quantity of Jing (life essence) and Qi (vital energy,) that essence and energy will guide them in the direction they need to go in and they are literally ‘in the flow’.  They always seem to be in the right place at the right time. People call that ‘lucky’, but it’s really magnetism built on life force.

Focusing the Qi to manifest things that serve us
One thing I have noticed in myself since I have been building my Qi is I have more and more ability to direct the course of things as needed. I always remember as a kid being really fascinated at how those Karate people who could break bricks with their bare hands. Now I understand how that is possible. Since everything is energy, all it takes is gathering a certain amount of energy in a specific place and directing it in the form of force to break the brick.

I actually experienced this gathering and directing of energy with a plastic wheel recently.  I was trying to hammer the wheel to the bottom of a cart and it wasn’t going in with my regular force, so I decided to summon the Qi I had been cultivating and direct it towards the wheel. Before I knew it, the wheel had shattered into 20 little pieces!

We can do the same thing with everything in our lives. Build the Qi (energy), refine it, concentrate it and focus it. And if we build this clean, clear energy, it will take us on a smoother more balanced journey.

Moving Blockages
Most people feel that they have so much baggage and so many blockages that they can’t move beyond them. So they are either trying to get someone to move the blockages for them with therapies, etc, saying, “Please heal me, please fix me.” Or they feel they want to participate, but don’t know what to do.

If you have tangible practices that you can do on a daily basis that will work in your schedule you can change this. Can you fit 10 minutes a day in your schedule? Once you have done that, your life starts to change, your energy starts to build, that gives you the Will to start to commit to doing things for yourself and now you have more energy to explore things.

Taking it to the next level
When I get to this point with my clients and students, they get more curious and say,  ‘I’m ready to got to the next level.’ They are seeing the different parts of their lives that aren’t completely working and they are ready to address them because building their kidney Qi has reduced the amount of fear they feel. When people have weak kidneys (which is the case for 99% of the population- and I’m not talking about a Western Medical test that only shows a ‘problem’ with the kidneys when they are already 70% failing) they will be more susceptible to fear.  Because the Kidneys store fear. And as we start to move and build the Qi in the kidneys, we start to feel less afraid. We can get excited about stuff and have the Will to make a change. It’s not that big a deal to do this thing we want to do, or make a phone call or get out of this relationship or to move or to make the change that needs to happen. So now we can do this.

The Hindu and Buddhist technique of Meditation should be to nurture the mind in quiet without looking for any reply except to stay the present moment of emptying the actual self allowing as their pharmicudical counterpart to wander for some time and then return in stop.
What occurs next may differ from one individual to another.
